Hi Melissa, nice to get a chance to speak to you – how's it going?
It is going very well. I'm excited for the show to begin next week!
Are you excited about hosting the Luxury Property Show?
Extremely, we have a lot of exhibitors from around the world showcasing some of the fine properties there is to offer. The best part is discovering where the deals are!
Why is it such a great event?
To begin with, The Hurlingham Club is such a fantastic destination and the quality of exhibitors at the show has been incredibly selective, so hopefully guests will be able to find their dream home.
What's the luxury property market like in the UK?
In my opinion London is still one of the most sought after cities to buy a property and the demand is always high.
What are the overseas luxury property hot spots?
Barbados and the Caribbean seem to very popular at the moment.
What type of people does it cater to?
Celebrities such as Simon Cowell but people who want to escape the cold and experience different lifestyle are looking at property over there.
What are the advantages of being involved in that kind of market?
The advantages of working in the property industry are that you learn how to bargain. Due to the financial climate, if you have enough money for such property, then this automatically puts you in the position to bargain and you are more likely to get the dream house you want for the price you want.
Are there any disadvantages?
Generally purchasing a property takes much longer than it used to. This is because homeowners are encouraged to do their homework on a property, rather than rushing into
a sale.
How does overseas luxury property fit in?
Luxury property has not been affected too much by the economic climate; however it certainly has made people cautious.
Where are the best places in Europe to buy a luxury property?
From what I see the trend is where the super rich holiday and where it is warm and sunny.
