Man hopes to 'sell' house for £217 per week

A property entrepreneur has struck upon a novel way of selling his house without having to rely on estate agents or banks.
Nathan Baws, a 37-year-old health consultant from Whittlesey, near Peterborough in Cambridgeshire, is proposing that those interested in taking ownership of his house “rent-to-buy”.
Baws, who has plastered the home he owns jointly with his partner with For Sale signs, says he is offering the four- bedroom property in Ford Close for a £9,000 deposit and weekly payments to him of £217.
He told the Cambs Times that he was trying to popularise a system that was common in his native Australia.
“We bought this house as an investment when everything was booming in 2007 and now, like a lot of homeowners, we’re stuck with properties that we can’t get rid of," he told the paper.
“It’s a win-win situation. The buyer who could never get a mortgage gets on the market and a seller who is stuck with a property has the chance to get rid of it.”
Last year, Baws gained notoriety for attempting to sell, in the same manner, a £600,000 Kensington flat he owned with a friend.
