Britain is a nation of nosy neighbours

A survey has revealed that eight out of ten Brits admit to spying on their neighbours – and August is the month when they are most prolific in their nosiness.
The research, which was commissioned by made-to-measure blinds retailer Apollo Blinds, found that lighter nights and longer days made summer the season when snooping is at its height.
A survey found that 62 per cent of men confessed to looking out for good-looking neighbours, while another 31 per cent said they’d hidden behind blinds or curtains to get a better look at those wearing revealing clothing.
Women were just as curious, with 51 per cent admitting they’d sneaked a peak at attractive men in the neighbourhood while 79 per cent said they regularly gossiped about others living in their area.
Gary Chambers, Apollo spokesman, said: “We all know it happens – we’ve all met our fair share of nosy neighbours – but we didn’t realise quite how much snooping goes on, or that it was taking place on such a widespread scale."
