Harry Potter stars Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson collectively own £24.5 million-worth of property.
The trio, who are worth over £85 million in total, have invested £24.5 million in luxury homes across the world – and with the record-breaking success of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, it looks likely that they will continue to expand their portfolios.
According to PrimeLocation.com, 21-year-old Daniel Radcliffe (who plays Harry Potter) owns three properties in New York: a £3.5 million penthouse with Hudson views in Tribeca, a £4 million townhouse in Manhattan's West Village, and a £3 million Mercer Street apartment. It seems that the nation's favourite wizard also works his magic as a landlord, letting the 1,843sqft Mercer Street property out for £3,000 per week – a tidy little top-up to his acting income.
Co-star Rupert Grint – better known as Ron Weasley – has also bought three properties and is enviably mortgage-free. The red-haired actor, 22, is now the proud owner of a £5.4 million, 18th-century manor house in his home county of Hertfordshire as well two other detached properties worth £3.35 million and £495,000.
Emma Watson, who at the tender age of 21 has gone from playing swotty Hermione Granger to being the face of brands such as Burberry and Lancome, owns a £3 million townhouse in North London's trendy Hampstead as well as a stunning £1 million chalet in the French ski resort of Meribel.
Nigel Lewis, property analyst at PrimeLocation.com, said: “Whether by luck or design, the Harry Potter stars have shown magical timing when it comes to stepping onto the property ladder.
“They have a knack for investing in the most desirable locations across the globe and I have no doubt that their money will continue to work for them long after the boy wizard franchise ends this year."
