Keep your home secure during the Royal Wedding

Nearly half of people are expected to go out for the day on April 29th, making the Royal Wedding a prime day for burglars.
As such, AXA has offered some tips to homeowners keen to join in the celebrations – or simply to make the most of the extra bank holiday – without leaving their home susceptible to break-ins.
According to the company's security experts, every second counts in keeping out burglars: leaving an unwatched door open for just 30 seconds can result in a snatched handbag.
For those hosting garden parties, this means you should take everything you need outside with you, locking the doors, or keep an eagle eye on any unlocked doors at all times.
Similarly, anyone heading out for the day should double-check that all the doors and windows are locked.
Alarms should be activated – and AXA advises against any social network status updates advertising the fact that the house will be empty due to the family being out.
Home insurance underwriting manager James Barclay said: "Our stats suggest that over three-quarters of us will not be concerned about the potential for burglary or damage over the Royal Wedding weekend, while around one in ten will be likely to broadcast plans to family and friends."
