New online UK property archive is launched

It's been possible to obtain previous selling prices for properties in Britain through online archives for quite some time - but a major property website has just launched a new tool which allows users to view additional details.
Today, Zoopla.co.uk launched its new archive, which not only stores historic house price information for over two million properties, but also allows users to view photos and descriptions.
It is hoped that the additional information will help empower Britain's home movers to make better purchasing decisions.
Visitors to the site can view historic asking prices for both sale and rental properties, as well as the date on which they were last listed, along with relevant images and other useful data.
Alex Chesterman, founder and chief executive of Zoopla.co.uk, said: "We believe that one of the key benefits of the web is its ability to make useful information free and easily accessible to everyone.
"Whilst historic property prices paid have been available online for some time, the ability to now match these to photos and descriptions of the property at that time is totally unique."
Chesterman went on to say that he expects the feature to become "an essential research tool" for all house movers, helping them make "smarter" property decisions.
