Property of the week: luxury by the sea in Cardiff

That's why it's the hometown of our property of the week: a stunning two-bedroom apartment with uninterrupted sea views that can be enjoyed from the wraparound terrace. Occupying half of the eighth floor of 58 The Watermark, the flat is huge, with double doors leading onto the impressive living area.

The property has been beautifully decorated throughout, with the occasional feature wall adding oomph to the otherwise neutral interiors.

The kitchen features sleek fitted appliances and underfloor heating, while the spacious dining area is perfect for dinner parties.

The principal bedroom oozes elegance and has fitted double wardrobes and fully tiled en-suite bathroom complete with double shower. The second bedroom also has an en-suite, and both bedrooms enjoy direct access onto the balcony, which curves around the perimeter of the building.

There's also a sizeable study which, if not being used for serious work-related matters, could double up as a third bedroom, and the apartment is complemented by two spaces in the secure underground car park, an additional shower room, utility room and wine store.

The abundant restaurants and bars of Mermaid Quay are within walking distance, as is the Pont Y Werin Bridge, which takes you to Penarth Marina.
