A change in the UK government would be positive news for the property market, it has been suggested.
David Amstell, founder of Briffy.com, claimed that a Conservative win at the upcoming general election would make people feel that "something positive is happening" in the housing market.
He asserted that the Labour government is seen as responsible for the property market "mess" and so a change of leadership could be good for the industry.
People are currently being cautious about putting their property up for sale as they want to ensure that "things aren't going to be worse than they are now".
Recent research from FindaProperty.com has shown that almost two fifths (39.1 per cent) of people believe a Conservative win at the general election will be beneficial for the housing market.
This is compared to the 13.7 per cent who believe that a Labour victory would do the same.
Almost one in ten (8.8 per cent) said a hung parliament would be good news for the industry.
