Houses in Chorlton-Cum-Hardy suffer the highest number of thefts in the UK, new figures suggest.
The Manchester suburb tops the postcode charts for home theft insurance claims compiled by moneysupermarket.com.
However, homeowners in London appear to be at the highest risk of home break-ins, the price comparison site's figures suggest.
The capital claims half of the top 20 postcodes in the insurance claims list.
Commenting on the findings, moneysupermarket.com head of home insurance Julie Owens explained that the data shows home theft is a risk "no matter where you live".
She explained: "Major cities, like London and Manchester, and affluent areas are a target for criminals.
"Properties classified as being in a 'high-risk' area - whether that be for crime, or something like flooding or subsidence for example, could affect the price of your insurance premiums."
Students are among those at a high risk of home theft in university towns and cities.
Recent research by Endsleigh revealed that the average student takes £4,000 worth of possessions to university, carrying a third of these items around with them on a regular basis.
