New homes in the north-east
Composed of four counties – Northumberland, Tyne and Wear, County Durham and North Yorkshire – north-east England has some of the most affordable property prices in the UK. According to the Council of Mortgage Lenders (CML), average property prices in the region remain around the £150,000 mark. But with urban developments around Tyneside, Wearside and Teesside, two World Heritage Sites – Hadrian's Wall and Durham Castle – and over 1000km of outstanding coastline, the area has a great deal to offer those looking to set-up home.
