Grand Designs: Trade Secrets

Grand Designs: Trade Secrets is a spin-off programme from the popular Channel 4 show Grand Designs, presented by Andrew Winter.

While Andrew usually concentrates on the acquisition and renovation of idiosyncratic properties, Trade Secrets takes a macro approach – examining how to develop the interior of a property.

Each week the presenters head to a featured location, reporting on what is topical and contemporary in the world of architecture and interior.

The show is hosted by a cast of presenters including Tom Dyckhoff, Deborah Saunt, Naomi Cleaver and Kevin McCloud – each of whom have specialist skills in their respective areas.

During the present series Kevin offers tips on how not go bankrupt when building your dream home, while Naomi reveals the latest trends in kitchen design. There is also advice on architectural salvaging, buying and renovating a ruin, commissioning bespoke and glass furniture and buying churches.

Trade Secrets is filled with take-home information about the world of architecture and design – designed to illustrate not just how we live today but how we will live tomorrow.
