Building a new life in the country
Channel Five's popular design and lifestyle show Build a New Life in the Country follows participants at they attempt to swap the smog of the cities for a new life in rural England.

However, events do not always go as planned – with families sometimes hankering for a return to the hustle and bustle of the city or finding themselves simply unable to adjust to life out in the sticks.

This spin-off show - Build a New Life in the Country: Was it Worth it? - follows those who have made an appearance on the programme, finding out how well they have adapted to their new lives and examining the challenges they have faced as well as the successes and failure they have met.

Some of the most popular former participants include David Forster and his Victorian water tower in the Norfolk woods. Four years ago the eccentric inventor and engineer David had been obsessed with converting this magical building into a dream home for his wife and sons. The show returns to take a look at their new lives.

Similarly, Was it Worth it? also revisits Adrian and Denise Nuttal, who gambled everything when they bought a rundown garden, barn and farmhouse set on 11 acres of beautiful Suffolk countryside in order to grow chilis. Good idea?
