Highlights

Gardeners' World returns this week (Friday, 20:00, BBC Two) after excursions to some of the leading flower shows in recent weeks.

Tonight they ask, how people use their gardens? Is it for pleasure or practicality? The team look over the garden fence and get a glimpse of how gardeners create their gardens to fit their and their family's needs.

Plus, a visit to garden designer James Alexander-Sinclair, and a look at head gardener Alys Fowler's own garden. Joe and Carol are in the garden with summer gardening tips, and a neglected space at Berryfields is transformed into a romantic retreat.
