Elijah Wood: Buy my house and tear it down

Elijah Wood has placed his Santa Monica house up for sale for $1.85 million (£1.12 million) – offering developers the chance to pull the house down and build a new property.
The Lord of the Rings star’s three-bedroom, 2,130-square-foot Spanish-style Californian home is snug by Hollywood standards.
According to the Real Estalker, the property boasts hardwood floors flowing through the kitchen and a formal living area which leads into a dining room. At the rear of the house the main bedroom, with attached bathroom, looks out onto a trellis-covered terraced.
There are two further bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs plus a guest cottage in the garden which contains a small office, bedroom and bathroom. All of which may be immaterial if the property is pulled down.
According to the report, Wood has not lived in the property, for which he paid $1,450,000 (£881,000) back in 1999 at the tender age of 18, for some years.
The 30 year old is now reported to live in a 1,408-square-foot, three-bedroom home in downtown Venice, California, which he bought in 2004 for $1.4 million (£850,000).
