Kate Hudson buys mansion in Los Angeles

Kate Hudson and Matt Bellamy have reportedly bought a house in Pacific Palisades, Los Angeles.
Humorous property blog The Real Estalker says it recently "happened upon documentation" indicating that the pregnant actress and her Muse front man beau had splashed out $5.3 million (£3.3 million) on the Tudor-style mansion.
Built in 1935, Hudson and Bellamy's L-shaped future love nest has five bedrooms, seven bathrooms, country-style kitchen, sauna, library and – of course – a swimming pool, all spread across 7,014sqft.
In typically acerbic fashion, the writer – who refers to him/herself only as "Your Mama" – adds that "While the rear of the house maintains a correct sort of quirkiness, the front façade emits not just an air of architectural authenticity but also suffers from, regrettably, the posture of a semi-suburban mcmansion".
Interestingly, despite the fact that Hudson and Bellamy were spotted viewing a Spanish-style property in Malibu back in March, the house that eventually won their hearts is right next door to Hudson's current home.
And, according to The Real Estalker, the house where Kate Hudson is currently living is the very same place in which she grew up – despite it having had another owner, screenwriter Barbara Gallagher, between her childhood years and December 2003, when Hudson bought it back for a reported $5.4 million (£3.35 million).
But sentimentality aside, perhaps the main motivating factor in Hudson and Bellamy's decision to purchase in the quiet Pacific Palisades neighbourhood was the fact that Hudson's mother Goldie Hawn and stepfather Kurt Russell still live in the area – we're sure they won't be oblivious to the free babysitting possibilities...
