Landlords: New advice north of the border
The National Landlords Association (NLA) has extended its service to provide guidance to the thriving private-rented sector in Scotland.
The UK trade body which represents around 14,000 landlords and provides advice and support on a range of issues from mortgages to tenant trouble has just launched NLA Scotland which it promises will have its very own identity.
The move has been hailed as a critical development for the private-rented sector in Scotland which now accounts for around eight per cent of households in the country.
Recently the Scottish Parliament issued a green paper revealing its goal to balance safeguards for tenants' interest and setting the right conditions to enable the sector to contribute towards providing more housing.
According to David Salusbury, chairman of the NLA, the organisation is the largest association of its kind in the UK.
And now it will be offering an increasing number of services to Scottish landlord members.
Mr Salusbury added: "Nowadays there are a very wide range of issues which impact on landlords up and down the country and this development seeks to serve our Scottish members even more as they meet these challenges."
The NLA represents around 14,000 landlords in the UK and aims to protect and promote their interests while raising standards of rented accommodation. NLA Scotland launched at the Scottish Parliament this week.
