Rightmove: North-east asking prices in August

Asking prices for properties in the north-east were 0.9 down per cent from July to August, according to a new survey by online estate agent Rightmove.

This is the second smallest fall of all regions of England and Wales.

Annual growth for the north-east is now -5.2 per cent, 0.4 percentage points below the England and Wales average of -4.8 per cent.

The survey finds the average asking price in the north-east is now £151,940.
