Brazil developing into a property hotspot

Brazil is emerging as the next big thing on the world's property investment market, as savvy young buyers increasingly look to exotic destinations.

South America has long been a favourite travel destination, but a new breed of younger, more adventurous investors are increasingly looking to make the journey more permanent and purchase property in the country.

A study carried out on the overseas property market by Datamonitor, for Overseas Property Professional magazine, finds younger buyers are increasingly driving the overseas property investment market in the UK.

These newer buyers are increasingly turning to newer, developing markets, including Croatia and Egypt – with Brazil leading the pack.

"We have first-hand proof Brazil is definitely attracting younger buyers and, in fact, among hip twenty and thirty-somethings, emerging property markets such as Brazil -which offer very high yields - are fast becoming the ‘pensions of the 21st century’," said Samantha Gore, head of sales and marketing for Brazilian property experts UV10.

The country is famed across the globe for its fantastic beaches, flamboyant carnivals, steamy nightlife, invigorating music and exciting culture – all of which have been attracting buyers.

"Brazil, particularly the trendy towns such as Pipa close to Natal, appeals to the young on price, nightlife, sporting activities from dune buggy rides to kite-surfing, year-round sunshine and a low cost of living meaning, of course, cheap alcohol and food of a freshness and quality rarely seen in the UK," concluded Ms Gore.
