More and more homeowners are installing wellness equipment
Increasing numbers of homeowners across Europe are installing wellness products in their homes.
Whirlpools, saunas and hydro-massage showers are becoming a more common feature of bathrooms across the continent, according to research by Ideal Standard.
More than two thirds of respondents to the survey carried out in France, Germany, Italy and the UK, agree that there is a definite trend for installing wellness equipment in the home.
Chief among the reasons behind this is the desire to relax and de-stress in the bathroom, which is the fourth most popular way of winding down after watching TV, going for walks and talking with friends and family.
Relaxation is the main reason for using wellness equipment, followed by relieving muscular aches and pains and general pampering.
The proliferation of wellness products has occurred alongside the rise in popularity of health clubs, with many buying the piece of equipment they use most at their health club.
Of those households who own wellness equipment, the whirlpool tub is the most popular – owned by 48 per cent – followed by the hydro-massage shower, owned by 45 per cent, while 13 per cent have bought a sauna.
