EcoHip taken over by Green CO2

Green CO2 energy services group has announced it is acquire the ecologically orientated EcoHip organisation.
EcoHip is the first 'green' home information pack (Hip) provider in the UK market, helping people cut down the energy rating of their homes and pledging part of its fee to carbon offset initiatives.
Working with Ecotribal, EcoHip is helping to pay for trees to be planted in the Amazon rainforest by donating money for the planting of one tree from the proceeds of every Hip it produces.
In the future the company is looking to widen the scheme to include sustainable housing and green education projects.
"Our whole philosophy is one of ecological awareness," said Patrick Headley, managing director of EcoHip.
"The more companies donate to the Amazon, the more we can make a real impact in the rainforest, where thousands of trees are felled every day in the name of progress and others are affected by the increased presence of cars and planes.
"Ecotribal is doing a wonderful job, but faces an uphill struggle to compete against those who are destroying the rainforest. Our ethos is about making a positive contribution to the environment and to the community."
EcoHip was involved in the government’s early trials of Hips and has pioneered the ecologically sound Hip from the start.
Customers will find they don’t have to pay any additional cost in order to plant their tree, and if they wish to add additional trees, EcoHip will subsidise the cost.
"Acquiring EcoHip was such a logical choice for us, as our mission statement has always been to remain committed to supporting environmental initiatives to reduce carbon emissions; and to provide qualified energy performance certificates (EPC) assessors and the logistical services required to implement government legislation."
