Bristol is the top property hunting location of the UK
Bristol is the UK's favourite property hunting location, research out today reveals.
The city ranked top in a survey of where Brits were looking to move to on the website Email4Property.co.uk, which specialises in local property searches.
In the last six months Bristol received 10,000 more online searches a month than any other city.
The website said Bristol's popularity was down to the many financial and technical companies located there, seeing a high demand for housing. Additionally, Bristol University and convenient travel links to London were also thought to contribute to its buoyant property market.
"In spite of a dynamic local economy and a thriving housing market, prices in Bristol have remained competitive," commented David Bexon, Email4Property managing director.
"This has kept property attainable for a broad range of buyers and continues to attract the attention of potential investors, who are also looking further a field as prices continue to drive buyers out of the London."
Email4Property finds young professionals moving to the city and students staying in the city after graduating were some of the major groups looking for a Bristol property.
"In addition, the airport has seen an increasing number of flights to international business and tourist destinations, reinforcing its strong commercial and tourist position. This has ensured a high demand for apartments in the city centre, where prices have remained affordable," the website noted.
The research finds terraced homes, which have an average price of £176,744, have been most popular.
