With the glut of Christmas films out of the way, a host of new property programmes hit our screens over the next ten days. On Thursday January 5th, a new series starts on BBC2 that follows eight households who attempt to pay off their mortgage in two years. Business guru Rene Carayol guides the householders in Pay off Your Mortgage in Two Years (BBC2, 2000) through a range of money-saving and money-making strategies.

Meanwhile, at the same time A Place in the Sun: 20 Best Places to Make Money is essential viewing for any overseas property investors. Presenter Amanda Lamb picks out the world's best property investment hotpots (Channel 4, 2000).
