If you're looking for a unique way to celebrate Prince William's forthcoming nuptials, planting a special commemorative rose could make a blooming lovely memento in years to come.
To celebrate the Royal Wedding, a special Catherine Rose – a stunning pale pink variety – has been introduced by Focus DIY, in honour of Kate Middleton, William's blushing bride-to-be.
With an average lifespan of 35 years, the Catherine Rose is a fitting tribute to Kate that will continue to bloom year after year.
On sale from April and priced at £9.99, the special flower will be exclusive to Focus DIY stores across the UK.
In addition, a percentage of sales from the limited-edition floribunda species will be donated to the Princes Diana Foundation Trust.
Gerrard Smith, horticulture controller for the home improvement and garden retailer, said that the rose is such a "classic British flower" that there simply couldn't be a better way to mark this momentous occasion.
"The Royal Wedding promises to be the biggest of the past two decades so we wanted to offer a fitting tribute to the royal bride and groom that will continue to flourish for years to come," he added.
Not only does the Catherine Rose honour Kate Middleton by her full first name, but it also marks St Catherine's Day, which falls on April 29th 2011, the date of the Royal Wedding.
