Gardening competition: Pimp your shed
Thursday, 3 February 2011 5:23 PM
If you're into gardening, you'll probably love your shed like, to quote a certain cheeky rapper, a fat kid loves cake.
But if your relationship with your shed is more akin to that between an anorexic and a Krispy Kreme store - that is, you'd rather run a marathon than step inside it - then we reckon you should confront the issue head on.
Yes dear reader, it's time to pimp your shed.
Luckily, an incentive is at hand in the form of a competition held by Cuprinol and Uncle Wilko, the founder of Shed Week, which this year falls in early July. The prize? A tidy £1,000 in cash and a shed-load (pun intended) of Cuprinol goodies.
Our tip? Imagination is key: last year, rogue-ish Reg (pictured below) stormed to victory with his pirate-themed spectacle which, for reasons best known to him, was named 'The Lady Sarah Out Of Worthing'. Other entries included a Tardis, a naval museum, a pub, a sports shed and a 'disco haven' as well as more mainstream offices and workshops.

This year's judging panel includes property guru Sarah Beeny, Radio 2's Simon Mayo and a 'whole host of other shed-loving luminaries' (AboutProperty's mind boggles).
To enter, upload pictures and details of your blinged-up shed to ReaderSheds.co.uk. For ideas and tips on how to make your shed even more splendid than Reg's piratical extravaganza, check out Cuprinol.co.uk.
