New interior design trends at Pulse London

Trade shows are always a great source when it comes to tracking down the latest innovations and trends in the interior design world, and Pulse London 2011 doesn't disappoint.
I visited this morning and found an abundance of want-it-now products, from the cleverly practical to the downright zany.
One of the first things I also spotted was a lovely new range by Neisha Crosland for Make International. Keith Brymer-Jones, Make's head of design, told me that this is the first time Crosland has taken her prints off fabric and onto china – and the gorgeous cup-and-saucer and espresso sets would make the perfect wedding gift.

There were several interesting art ranges at Pulse. My attention couldn’t fail to be grabbed by Drew Barton's blingtastic diamante canvases. The designer said the sparkle was inspired by his recent trip to Paris trade show Maison Objet, where crystal-adorned pieces were big news.

Spineless Classics was certainly one of the more original collections at Pulse: each piece features the entire text of a book or play moulded into pictorial form.

In terms of practical pieces, these folding Flux chairs from Pad Home can be kept flat and come in a range of bright colours including on-trend orange:

Japanesey's stand was packed with quirky silicone products – I love the idea of keeping my jewellery on one of these handy pieces.

Elsewhere in the storage realm, I was really taken with these Dutch cupboards by The Original Metal Box Company:

This gorgeous Thai cabinet, which I found on the L Living stand, really nails the trend for all things butterfly:

Lighting-wise, I came across two very stylish products: this Blue Marmalade lampshade, which features a tube map print in its inner folds, and the burgundy outdoor lantern just below from Edge Company – cool enough for men to feel okay about buying a candle receptacle...
