How-to videos launched by Polycell

Despite the fact that over 50 per cent of under-35s lack basic DIY skills, belt-tightening has led many Brits to attempt home improvement projects themselves rather than calling in the experts.

Most products and kits that you can buy from a DIY store come with instructions, but when embarking upon a never-tried-before DIY project, sometimes even a seasoned pro needs a visual. Luckily, Polycell – best known for star product Polyfilla, but also manufacturer of a whole host of other handy home improvement products – has come to the nation's rescue, with a range of how-to videos.

The three-minute films, which are part of the 'We'll Show You How' campaign, are hosted online, meaning you can watch them on your laptop or mobile from the stepladder if you really like. The series covers everything from mixing powder filler to the right consistency to smoothing over cracks in the wall.

Far be it from AboutProperty to confess to being anything less than an omniscient demigod in all matters DIY, but even we picked up a tip or two from the clips...
