Changing Rooms

Tuesday, 24 Jan 2006 13:28
Laurence Llewelyn Bowen, Changing Rooms
One of the original home makeover shows, Changing Rooms introduced the world to the concept of manically over-hauling a room in a weekend.

Featuring the likes of the flamboyant Laurence Llewelyn Bowen, Carol Smillie, Anna Ryder Richardson and Linda Barker, each episode sees them helping neighbours redesign rooms in each-others' houses.

There is a wealth of useful tips to be picked up from the experts on how to cheaply revamp a room.

On the whole, Changing Rooms' efforts are a success, with families being left delighted by the designers' visions.

However, some designs are not to everyone's taste, and occasions when Llewelyn Bowen has left couples in tears are particularly memorable.

There have also been special editions of Changing Rooms, including the crew's Christmas trip to the flood-ravaged Boscastle, where they revamped a number of buildings that had been affected by the floods in August 2004.
