B&Q: opened its 'next generation' Warehouse DIY store
Scotland's largest home improvement store opened in East Kilbride last week.
B&Q's new store is designed for both keen DIYers and those interested in just choosing colour schemes and designs, but less interested in doing it themselves.
The launch of the store - the first of its 'next generation' Warehouse format - comes after research by Mintel revealed that Scots are the keenest DIYers when it comes to creating a new look or colour scheme.
For the first time, the store will include a marketplace containing stylish 'finishing touches' for kitchens, bedrooms and bathrooms, including soft furnishings, prints, mirrors, frames, houseplants, table lamps, radiators and Tate wallpaper.
The store will also benefit from an increased range of traditional DIY materials, and an extended range of products for the garden, as well as in-store demonstrations of DIY techniques.
B&Q chief executive Rob Cissell said: "The new B&Q Warehouse, East Kilbride will provide our Scottish customers with everything they need for a home improvement project - from core DIY materials to bedroom furniture, white goods, garden furniture and even designer radiators.
"With its inspirational new layout and wider range of products we believe this 'next generation' B&Q Warehouse will meet the needs of all our customers."
