The Sleep Room launches stylish new bedroom range

I visited a quirky little attic showroom in Ladbroke Grove yesterday in order to check out the new collection from The Sleep Room.
Originally stocking just a handful of beds, the company was launched in 2008 by owner Charlie Marshall when he went bed shopping and failed to find anything suitable for his needs.
Now, as well as a rather divine selection of beds, The Sleep Room has branched out into rugs, furniture, linens and accessories. Many of its materials are sourced in India (where creative chief Steve Armitage also gains much of his design inspiration) – and the new collection is simply gorgeous.
But as well as being aesthetically lovely, The Sleep Room's beds are built to be practical. As Laura, who handles the company's public relations, explained to me, the beds are ideal for people seeking extra storage, as many come with built-in drawers.
The Sleep Room is also refreshingly flexible, offering customers the opportunity to choose exactly what they want in each element of their bed, mixing and matching headboards and bases to perfectly answer their needs.
But enough detail – let's talk pictures. Here are a few of my favourite pieces...

This four-poster, called Caravan, has a linen canopy. I loved the playful edging on the wood - not to mention the quirky Mexico cushion.

The photo doesn’t show it very well but the headboard on the Smoke bed is slightly curved in at the sides, making it feel even more welcoming and cosy.

The Nomad reminds me of a bed my parents had back in the '80s. But in a good way. It was a nice bed.

Studding detail + girly, delicate print = Marie, my dream headboard.
The showroom also yielded a surprisingly extensive collection of furniture and accessories, including...

I love the combination of fresh white colour and Moroccan design on this bedside table, appropriately named Maroc.

All of The Sleep Room's Ottomans come with a cushion, and you can choose to have a different fabric on either side to make it reversible. See, they really do think of everything.
